Marcelo J. Moreira holds a PhD in Economics and a Masters in Statistics from the University of California at Berkeley. He was a professor at Harvard University and Columbia University, was elected an Alfred P. Sloan fellow in 2006, an Econometric Society fellow in 2012, an International fellow at University College London (UCL) in 2015, an IAAE fellow in 2020, and a Journal of Econometrics fellow in 2021, and Senior Research Fellow of International Food Policy Research Institute. Currently, the economist is a professor at Fundação Getúlio Vargas - RJ. Research mainly in the area of Mathematical, Econometric and Statistical Methods and Models, having worked on the following topics: asymptotic theory, identification in simultaneous equation models, method of moments, inference in non-stationary time series models, estimation in panel models, and tests in factors..
