Professor and Former Student of FGV EPGE receive 2014 Haralambos Simeonidis award

FGV EPGE – Escola Brasileira de Economia e Finanças is proud to announce that the Professor and former student of the Master’s Program, and of the 1st class from the Undergraduate Program, Francisco Junqueira Moreira da Costa, received Haralambos Simeonidis Award 2014. He won the category ‘Thesis’ with the paper Essays in applied economics: evidence from Brazil, developed during his PhD. Program at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Costa returned to EPGE last year, in 2013, in order to become part of the faculty.

Created in 1982, Haralambos Simeonidis Award, became the most important in the area in Brazil and aims to stimulate reflection and research activities. It´s  given annually, by National Association of Graduate Centers in Economics (ANPEC), the  to the best theses and articles on Economics written by professionals in the area from Brazilian institutions.

The Examining Committee was formed by professors Braz Camargo, from EESP FGV-SP; Flavio Vilela Vieira, from Universidade Federal de Uberlândia; Joaquim José Martins Guilhoto, from USP- IPE; Maria de Lourdes Mollo, from Universidade de Brasília e Mônica Viegas Andrade, from CEDEPLAR-FACE-UFMG.
