Call for External Students and EPGE Alumni

Target Audience

This call is intended for students outside EPGE who are in their final year of undergraduate studies or have graduated within the last five years in Economics or technically related fields (such as Business Administration, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics) and are interested in pursuing a Master’s or Doctorate in Economics. EPGE alumni who graduated within the last five years are also eligible.

Objective

To provide students with advanced tools in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics (Advanced Topics in Economics course), as well as in Mathematics and Statistics (Quantitative Methods course), using the syllabus of the ANPEC National Selection Exam as one of the references.

Information

  • The course will be offered from February 17, 2025, until the third week of September 2025, continuously.
  • Classes will be held four times a week.
  • The total course workload is 200 hours, distributed as follows (subject to change):
    • Quantitative Methods (Mathematics) – 50 hours
    • Quantitative Methods (Statistics) – 50 hours
    • Advanced Topics in Economics (Macroeconomics) – 50 hours
    • Advanced Topics in Economics (Microeconomics) – 50 hours
  • Maximum number of spots available for this call: 10 (ten).

Application Process

Applicants must submit the required documents listed below (*). The documents should be sent via email to secepge@fgv.br, with the subject line "Processo Seletivo – chamada externa de alunos," by January 31 at 4:30 PM. Only applications submitted with complete documentation will be considered. Candidates will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission. The original documents must be presented on the exam day (February 3).

Required documents:

  • Completed application form;
  • Undergraduate academic transcript;
  • High school transcript (optional).

Selection Process

Selection will be based on an evaluation of submitted documents and the results of an entrance exam on February 3. The exam will cover Mathematics and Statistics, as per the syllabus.

EPGE undergraduate alumni are eligible for a tuition discount. If they pass the ANPEC selection process and enroll in the EPGE Master's or Doctorate programs, their tuition will be fully refunded in the form of scholarships. The same refund policy applies to external students, provided they meet the same conditions.

Timeline

  • Application Deadline: January 31, 2025
  • Exam Date: February 3, 2025 (Monday), from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM (in-person exam)
  • Selection Results: February 4, 2025
  • Enrollment Period: February 5–14, 2025

Enrollment

Selected students must present the following documents at the Academic Records Office at a later date:

  • Original and copy of ID;
  • Original and copy of CPF;
  • Original and copy of proof of residence;
  • Official academic transcript;
  • Enrollment certificate indicating the semester in progress in February 2025 or
    Graduation certificate with the graduation date (Diploma, completion certificate, or degree confirmation).
