Rafael Martins de Souza

Researcher at FGV CERI, Professor of Data Science at the Professional Master in Finance and Business Economics (MFEE) at FGV's Graduate School of Economics (FGV EPGE) and Professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ ). Rafael holds a PhD in Economics from the Graduate School of Economics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (2009), a Master's Degree in Statistical Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003) and a Bachelor's Degree in Statistical Sciences from the National School of Statistical Sciences (2000). He worked as an econometrician in the Economic Department of Grupo Libra, being responsible for the elaboration of econometric models for the projection of cargo handling at the Group's container terminals and for the projection of macroeconomic variables, such as inflation, product, interest, etc. He is one of the authors of the collection "Questions ANPEC" of preparatory books for the national exam of the National Association of Graduate Programs in Economics. He was a researcher at the National School of Statistical Sciences at IBGE where he taught the disciplines of Econometrics, Generalized Linear Models and Non-Parametric Methods and professor of Microeconomic Analysis and Econometrics at Ibmec-Rio. He provided consulting services in statistics and econometrics to companies such as Vale, Ambev and the Ministry of Tourism. He has experience in econometric modeling of inflation indices, economic activity indicators and financial risk analysis. He has participated in several international congresses and published in the International Review of Financial Analysis.
