PhD in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), he is a professor at the Graduate School of Economics at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (EPGE/FGV) and at the Department of Economics at PUC-Rio. He is a researcher at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea), where he currently holds the position of Director of Macroeconomic Studies and Policies. He was Undersecretary for Fiscal Policy at the Secretariat for Economic Policy of the Ministry of Economy and editor of the Revista Pesquisa e Pesquisa Econômico. Main areas of expertise: fiscal policy, monetary policy, macroeconomic models and time series econometrics.
