Marcelo J. Moreira holds a PhD in Economics and a Master's degree in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. He has worked as a Professor at Harvard University and Columbia University. He was elected an Alfred P. Sloan fellow in 2006 and an Econometric Society fellow in 2012. In 2015, he became an international fellow of University College London, in 2020, he was elected an IAAE Fellow and Journal of Econometrics fellow in 2021. Currently, the economist is a professor at Fundação Getúlio Vargas - RJ, and a member of the editorial board of the Econometric Reviews and Journal of Econometrics. His research is mainly in the area of Methods and Mathematical Models, Econometrics, and Statistics, working on the following subjects: asymptotic theory, identification of models of simultaneous equations, inference in models of non-stationary time series, estimation in panel models, and testing models factors.
