Post-doctorate at the Université de Savoie (2010 and 2012); PhD from COPPE-UFRJ-Civil Engineering Program - Computational Systems (2004); Specialization in Artificial Intelligence at UFF (1992); Master's degree from the Military Institute of Engineering - Systems Engineering (1987); Graduated in Telecommunications Engineering from the Military Engineering Institute (1973). He is interested in the area of Computational Intelligence, mainly in the following subjects: machine learning, item response theory, complex networks, fuzzy systems.
