The first project is “Risk loving, taxation, and growth” working with Professor Araujo and Juan Pablo Gama (postdoc, IMPA), we developed a new model of economic growth and wealth distribution. We are currently preparing the results for publication. In the second project, working with Professor Araujo, and Thiago Martinez (pHD candidate at EPGE/FGV), we are developing a model in which improvements in healthcare increases life expectancy and welfare but can lead to lower measured GPD. He also discussed with Rafael Chaves (Professor Associate at EPGE/FGV), and Serge Del Valk (pHD candidate at EPGE/FGV) how to develop a model that shows the importance of having a moderate inflation target (not too low) in the presence of fiscal fragility, which is the case in Brazil.
