FGV students are finalists in Inovar Competition

Students from FGV/EPGE-Escola Brasileira de Economia e Finanças and FGV Direito Rio, Pedro Delfino and Claudio Azzi, respectively, are finalists in the Inovar Competition, in which students from universities from all over Brazil analyze the impact of Intellectual Property Rights on economy.

FGV students’ work, under the orientation of FGV Direito Rio Professor Antônio José Maristrello Porto, is one of the three elected among more than 1,000 enrolled.  Other two students from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) complete the team.  They have written an essay and made a three-minute video about Tecnobrega, a form of music from the state of Pará. They have based their work on the scientific production of Direito Rio Center of Technology and Society (CTS).
“The freedom FGV students have to present their new ideas and projects, always with support from professors and research centers, is part of FGV’s institutional and academic culture, and this project is proof of it”, Professor Antônio Porto explained.
The winning work will be selected by popular vote on Facebook, which can be done until 17 February, and the prize will be a trip to the main world congress on Intellectual Property, at Fordham University, in Nova York, with all expenses paid.
