EPGE regrets the death of Solomão Quadros

The EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) regrets the death of its former student and employee of the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV IBRE), Salomão Lipcovitch Quadros da Silva, held on January 24, in the River.

Salomão acted as head of the Surveys, Deputy Superintendent of the Superintendency of Prices and coordinator of Projects in the area of calculations and economic analysis of IBRE. For 15 years, he devoted himself to the research and analysis of inflation, being responsible for the main economic indicators of the country, such as the IGP-M. He also wrote the book "Beyond the Indices: Chronicles, Stories, and the Lines of Inflation."

"In addition to being very generous, cordial and affable with his colleagues, Solomon was one of the most knowledgeable of price indexes in the country. Working in an area where the analysis is usually localized and partial, Solomon has always gone far beyond that, mastering his knowledge of inflation gauges to a refined macroeconomic analysis. This made his writings and lectures on the subject of knowledge obligatory to the professionals of the area. We lost a great Brazilian, an excellent economist and a colleague of the highest caliber "said the Director of EPGE, Professor Rubens Penha Cysne
