Exchange Programme (Incoming)

Admission and Registration

Students need to be selected and nominated by their Home Institution, respecting the following deadlines:

  • Spring Term (february to july): September, 30th
  • Fall Term (August to December): April, 30th

International Office will assess all documents. Should any doubts arise, further documents and/or clarifications may be requested from the student or from the International Office from student´s Home Institution. The application’s deadlines are:

  • Spring Term (february to july): October, 30th
  • Fall Term (August to December): May, 30th

The following documents must be sent to FGV EPGE by e-mail (riepge@fgv.br)

  • International Student Application Form (available online);
  • Statement of Responsibility (available online);
  • Declaration of Support and Liability (available online);
  • Jpeg file containing recent color photo – white background, clear, good quality, not framed, full face, without sunglasses, hat or other head cover, unless for cultural or religious reasons (the face must not be covered);
  • Copy of passport containing document´s number, expiration date and personal details;
  • Copy of school´s transcript clearly showing the academic level of the student (Bachelor’s or Master’s). Sometimes it is not easy to identify from the transcript at which level the student is, in which case additional documentation or a letter from the student’s advisor/coordinator may be requested;
  • Copy of an insurance policy with minimum coverage of EUR 30,000 (thirty thousand Euros) or US$ 42,000 (forty-two thousand Dollars), valid for the entire period of the exchange program, incl. posthumous transfer to the home country;
  • Resume.

An Acceptance Letter will then be issued, signed by the Coordinator of the Program the student intends to enroll (Bachelor or Masters) and sent by regular mail to the IR Coordinator of the sending institution.

Visa

All international students must obtain a student visa to study in Brazil (Visa IV). The Acceptance Letter is one of the documents required by the Brazilian Consulate in order to issue a student visa.

For comprehensive information regarding visa application, students should contact the local Brazilian Consulate.

Please note that the Brazilian offices normally require that the student’s passport must be valid for at least 6 (six) months after the end of the study period at the School.

CPF – Individual Taxpayer Registry

All exchange students who wish to study in Brazil need to request this document. The CPF is a number assigned to each citizen in Brazil and used for various services.

After registering, the student must fill out the form in the link below and check with the Brazilian Consulate in the respective country to receive the document.

Federal Police Registration

All foreign students who wish to remain in the country for three months or more must register with the Federal Police, within a maximum period of 90 calendar days, counting from the day of arrival in Brazil.

FGV EPGE will provide the nominated students with information on the registration.

Language requirement

No proof of proficiency in Portuguese is required.
