About

The Undergraduate Program in Economics of the Brazilian School of Economics and Finance has among its objectives the encouragement of the students to exercise independent thinking, creativity and critical thinking, which requires a broad academic background, comprising the quantitative methods,economy theory and human sciences.

The institutional education program consists of courses, seminars, conferences, research and extension activities that aim to guarantee to the student a solid theoretical and quantitative training specific to the Economics field. In addition, the student has the option to engage in one or more of the following subject areas of concentration: Finance, Economic Policy, and Markets and Contracts. These focus areas correspond to three different fields of professional economist performance (respectively Finance, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics). They also serve to distinguish traditional areas of research in economics and enable students to focus their studies on issues and related analytical tools to both its intellectual interest as their professional performance goals.

The IGC – General Index of Courses, covering undergraduate and graduate, was three times the highest in Brazil. Both times the school was placed in second in the Brazil ranking. In addition, the latest result of the National Exam of Student Performance (Enade), which verifies the performance of undergraduate students, awarded the maximum score (5) to the School.
