Professor Aloisio Araujo is nominated Honorary Member of the American Economic Association
Professor Aloisio Araujo, from the Graduate School of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV/EPGE), has just been nominated Foreign Honorary Member of the American Economic Association, along with Kenneth George Binmore, from the United Kingdom, and Lars E.O. Svensson, from Sweden. The last Brazilian honored with this distinction was Professor Mario Henrique Simonsen.
The Association, founded in 1885, works for the freedom of economic discussion and to promote their search, always acting in a nonpartisan way. With more than 18 thousand members, the American Economic Association publishes some of the most relevant publications from the area: The American Economic Review, The Journal of Economic Literature, The Journal of Economic Perspective and the American Economic Journals.
Prof. Aloisio Araujo is also Fellow of the Econometric Society since 1987, and was recently chosen as the new President of the Society For the Advancement of Economic Theory (SAET).
