The conference Econometrics in Rio is an opportunity to have an integrated view of econometric and statistical theory and its applications to a wide array of estimation problems in economics and finance, specially in the areas of panel data, quantile regression, and time series. The conference will feature 8 invited lectures as well as contributed sessions with open submission of papers. The idea is to minimize the number of sessions running concurrently so as to allow for a high-quality discussion between speakers and audience.

This is the third of a series of econometrics conferences the Getulio Vargas Foundation plans to organize every second year. The proceedings of the first and second conferences, Common Features in Rio and Semiparametrics in Rio, will be published as an Annals Issue of the Journal of Econometrics.
